The name Sangiovese comes from a Latin term meaning “the blood of Jove”, fuelling theories it
has been around since Roman times. It is best known as the main grape in Tuscany’s Chianti wines. With a similar weight to Barbera and Merlot, it thrives in Moderate, continental type climates such as McLaren Vale and King Valley.
