Being a first vintage, the wine was matured in 100% new French oak puncheons, to ensure the oak was well integrated and in balance with the fruit. This was followed by an additional 20 months of gentle oak ageing.
In the glass: Deep garnet.
On the nose: Dark fruits, cedar, spice and wood smoke.
On the palate: Medium to full-bodied with mulberry, cassis, redcurrant and blackcurrant, bramble, toast and tobacco leaf and ripe fine-grained tannins complemented by the round texture.
