Deviation Road Wines

Deviation Road Winery produces exciting cool climate wines from mature vineyard resources in the Adelaide Hills. Owners Hamish and Kate Laurie continue a five generation winemaking tradition. Devoted to the high altitude sites of the Adelaide Hills and with Kate’s French oenology training, the wines they produce are at once traditional and contemporary.

With a fiery passion to create premium bottle fermented and aged sparkling together with textual aromatic whites and basket-pressed reds that can genuinely cellar, their signature style is focussed, textural, restrained and balanced. At Deviation Road every sip reveals a little of the mystery; a taste of the terroir, a glimpse at the season, a hint of the science and a wink to the heritage that crafts its existence.

Kate Laurie loves all things French, so at 19 she jumped at the opportunity to live and study in the famed region of Champagne, France. In 1997 Kate graduated from the Lycée Viticole d’Avize realising her winemaking dream. Today Kate specialises in producing premium, bottle fermented and aged Sparkling, drawing on the expertise obtained while living and studying in the famed region of Champagne. Deviation Road enjoys an impressive and growing list of national and international accolades for its sparkling wine.

Deviation Road Wines Cellar Door

Located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, Deviation Road's cellar door experience combines a spectacular vineyard and native garden setting with a sophisticated wine menu that showcases our commitment to cool climate viticulture. Taste the range of award-winning artisanal Sparkling, aromatic white and basket pressed red wines or book in for a tutored wine flight or master class. Enjoy regionally inspired tasting platters, a game of bocce on the manicured lawns or sit back in the wine garden with a glass of wine and watch the alpacas graze in the vineyard. You may even be lucky enough to witness Kate saber a bottle of Sparkling at special cellar door only events. Surrounded by heritage listed bush land, Deviation Road's cellar door celebrates the very best of the Adelaide Hills.
