In 1980, Geoff Hardy left the family company; Thomas Hardy & Sons; to make his own way in the Australian wine world. The same year, he established Pertaringa and since then the Pertaringa vineyards, in the foothills behind McLaren Vale, have continued to produce some of the regions finest wines. Just like her father, Bec Hardy is now making her own way in the Australian wine world with Bec Hardy Wines. In 2020, celebrating 40 years, Bec acquired the Pertaringa brand from her father to join the Bec Hardy Wines portfolio, putting a modern twist on 170 years of winemaking heritage.
