Padthaway is part of South Australia’s famous Limestone Coast, so it benefits from the terra rossa soils. However, unlike its neighbour, Coonawarra, it’s more famous for white wines and is famously known as ‘Chardonnay country’. That’s not to say that its reds aren’t worth a look as there are excellent examples of reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz coming out of Padthaway.
