It’s only ten minutes from Melbourne airport before you are confronted by one of Victoria’s oldest regions. It has been on the viticultural map since the 19th century yet it makes wines that are slightly different to the rest of Victoria thanks to its distinctive volcanic soil.
The most popular wines of the region are distinctive Shiraz (which are dominated by white pepper and spice), Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
