Five Geese La Volpe Nero D'Avola 2014

La Volpe, which means, the fox, is 100% McLaren Vale, hailing from a vineyard where the alluvial iron-rich soils ensure vibrant textures and flavours in the fruit.
 
In the glass: Medium to deep red.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe red berry and liquorice.
On the palate: Shows lovely, almost Pinot-like texture in a juicy, medium-weight style. The tannins are ripe and silken, underpinning a vibrant core of strawberry jam and raspberry fruit. A lovely, charmingly gentle luncheon or tapas wine.
