Introduced by monks in the Middle Ages, Sagrantino is native to the hills of Montefalco, an ancient city in Umbria, Italy, and makes a fantastic food wine.
Red to purple. Cranberry, cherry and raspberry aromas with touches of herbs, pepper and cedar. Spicy fruit entry of red berry fruit, supported by dusty tannins, fine drying acidity, nutty oak and a savoury finish. A lovely food wine.
