Merlot is sometimes perceived as a bit of an underdog, but wines like this show that the perception is misguided. A delicious example of the variety as a stand-alone wine.
Youthful dark red. Ripe plummy fruit with hints of violet and crushed herbs. Tight, youthful and dry, with a deep core of plum and mulberry, touches of damp earth and undergrowth, toasty oak and tense acidity. Should develop well in the medium-term.
