Montepulciano, affectionately know as 'Monte' is not only a grape variety in Italy but the name of a town and a wine. Confusing perhaps but luckily it produces delicious wines.
Medium to full red purple. Inky and powerful black cherry, rosemary, spice and lavender perfumes. Gentle red fruit entry in a medium-bodied frame, with balanced tannins, layers of pepper and crushed leaf, and savoury oak on the fragrant finish.
