Plantagenet | Wine of the Season

History

With vines dating back to 1968, Plantagenet Wines embodies the best of Western Australia with its distinctive wines of finesse and elegance. As a pioneer of the cool climate Great Southern region, Plantagenet’s reputation is celebrated for its rich heritage, its expressive wines and family-owned sensibility, making it one of the most trusted wine brands in the country. With an understanding that life, like good wine, needs to be well rounded and balanced, they’ve created a culture of caring for country and working towards sustainable practices throughout their production system.

Tasting Notes

Quite a savoury cool climate palate, it presents white peach, honeyed brioche, lemon cream, nougat, and cashews. Fresh acidity is balanced with lees derived texture and it has good length with a savoury but clean finish.

The 2017 Vintage

A dry winter and mild spring was followed by a warm growing season with welcome rainfall in December and January leading to full, healthy canopies enabling excellent yields and great flavour development.

+ FOOD

This Chardonnay has the complexity to match with flavoursome dishes including roast chicken
and creamy pasta. Or for a delicious autumn seafood dish, we recommend grilled salmon with pear and rocket salad.
